How to estimate the ROI of your Single Sign-On project

Besides the security enhancements that you achieve with the implementation of Single Sign-On in your IT landscape, one important factor is always to estimate the Return-On-Invest that you get with this implementation.

Especially, if you plan to invest in a product solution like SAP NetWeaver Single Sign-On, it’s good to have an idea about possible cost savings. Calculations have to consider the number of helpdesk calls / helpdesk effort related to password resets and of course the loss of productivity for people waiting to get access to systems.

Managed MDM Service: Scalable – available within 24 hours – reduced risk of cost overruns

With the mobilization of business processes, companies are facing new challenges of having to manage mobile devices and data security.

If used and applied effectively, MDM can productively support IT-operations and reduce employees` workload.

This, however, presupposes the availability of a suitable infrastructure and of operating system-specific expertise both with respect to the server software and the mobile clients used. But how can companies deal with the additional workload – having regard to the ongoing cost pressure and limited human resources?

SUP/SMP in the Cloud

Realtech now offers Sybase Unwired Platform/ SAP Mobile Platform in combination with “Infrastructure as a Service” (IaaS).

This allows you to do your PoCs without having to invest a big amount of time and money in new infrastructure and its implementation.

SUP/SMP-Cloud solutions are best for testing standard SAP-Apps or self-developed applications.
Realtech will provide you with the needed infrastructure via Cloud within 24 hours, which cuts usual PoC-duration by a substantial degree.

HANA: Not an appliance any more

It has been a critic about HANA: It is sold as an appliance.

Many customers do not want an appliance in their DC. They have an existing strategy about the hardware, the setup of systems and the way the configuration should be.

SAP did receive this feedback – and is reacting.

It will be possible to install SAP HANA, SAP would like to review the hardware though.

So more good news for spreading the word.

New SAP Solution Explorer – Can you dig it?

Just in time for this year’s SapphireNOW SAP published a new portal that  shall help customers and partners quickly identify those solutions from SAP that are the most relevant for their industry and lines of business.

But is it really possible to save implementation time by using that new portal as SAP announced some days ago?

Current HADR scenarios for SAP BI powered by SAP HANA are not released so far for SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA!

As a result of SAP information from DSAG technology days neither Scale-Out nor System Replication is currently certified for customer to use for SAP-Suite on HANA.

System Replication as warm disaster recovery solution additional to “cold” storage replication is now supported for BI on HANA, but not yet finally implemented by the HW vendors.

As first HADR scenario for SAP Business Suite on HANA customer can implement a small solution for two single node installations as system replication solution.
